How to spend three days in Mallorca

Day 1: Palma, the capital of Mallorca

Cathedral of Santa Maria

We recommend starting this 3-day itinerary of Mallorca in the capital by visiting the majestic Cathedral of Palma de Mallorca, known as La Seu, a masterpiece of Gothic architecture that boasts the largest Gothic rose window in the world, with a diameter of 13 metres. Located next to the bay of Palma and declared a Historic-Artistic Monument in 1931, it is an icon of the Balearic Islands and is a must on your route around Mallorca.

Almudaina Royal Palace

Very close to the cathedral is the Royal Palace of the Almudaina, the official residence of the King of Spain during their stays on the island, which dates back to the 14th century. In this building steeped in history you will find a mixture of the different cultures that came to the island to leave their mark. It is a highly recommended visit where you can take a tour of the different rooms.

After your visit, don't forget to stroll around the old town to discover all the charm of the capital.

Plaza Mayor

Located in the heart of the city, in the old San Felip Neri district, it is full of cafés and terraces. Here you can usually find street markets, concerts and other events.

Bellver Castle

We also recommend a visit to Bellver Castle. Surrounded by forest and with impressive views, it is one of the few castles in Europe with a circular floor plan. Conceived as a royal residence, it later became a military prison in 1717. It currently houses the museum of the history of the city of Palma.

If you have time to spare, a stroll along the Paseo Marítimo is a great option. You can rent bicycles or enjoy a leisurely stroll and recharge your batteries in one of the many restaurants you'll find in the area. Yacht charter in Palma de Mallorca will allow you to discover the surrounding coves and beaches.

Day 2: Villages of the Serra de Tramuntana

We continue our 3 days in Mallorca itinerary, visiting the most outstanding villages in the north of the island:

Valldemossa

This picturesque village is one of the most beautiful in Mallorca. The virtuoso pianist and composer Frederic Chopin and his partner, the writer George Sand, stayed here during the winter of 1838 in cell number 4 of the Valldemossa Charterhouse, a cell that has now been converted into a small museum.

We recommend that you lose yourself in its cobbled streets to discover the special charm of this Mallorcan village and stop to try its famous "cocas de patata".

Sóller

Considered the capital of the Sierra de Tramuntana, Sóller combines nature and tradition. Its old town and port are well worth a visit. Famous for its orange production, it also has a historic railway, which connects the town with the centre of Palma de Mallorca.

Deià

This pretty village with its cobbled streets exudes a special peace. It has been a refuge for artists and writers for years, attracted by its bohemian atmosphere. After your visit, we recommend you take a dip in Cala Deià, a small cove with crystal clear waters, a paradise in the middle of the Tramuntana mountain range.

Cala Deià

Mirador Sa Foradada

Very close to Deià, Sa Foradada is perfect for enjoying a magical sunset. From this viewpoint you can enjoy one of the most iconic landscapes of the island, a rocky peninsula with a natural hole (‘foradada’). It is one of the best places to watch the sunset and one of the best things to do in Mallorca in 3 days.

Day 3: Beaches and coves in the south of the island

Although it is difficult to decide between all the paradisiacal options, to end your 3-day itinerary in Mallorca we bring you a selection of the best beaches and coves of different characteristics that you will find in the south of the island so that you can choose the ones that best suit your tastes.

Es Trenc

This spectacular large natural beach, over 2km long and located in a protected area, is one of the best known on the island. This paradise of white sand and turquoise waters is easily accessible and has sun loungers and umbrellas for hire and paid parking, making it one of the most recommended beaches if you visit the island.

Cala Pi

A long, narrow beach of white sand and crystal-clear waters located between two cliffs. Before going down the stairs that lead to the beach, we recommend you stop at the viewpoint on the left, from where you can enjoy beautiful views of the cove.

Cala Pi

Cala Llombards

Easily accessible beach located among a large vegetation of pine trees and cliffs. It has sun loungers and parasols for hire and a small beach bar in summer, making it a comfortable place to spend the day.

Cala Llombards

Cala Mondragó

Located in the Mondragó Natural Park, it is in an unspoilt, protected area with calm, crystal-clear waters and surrounded by pine trees.

Caló des Moro

This small cove is one of the most impressive in Mallorca. Difficult to access, it can get very crowded in the summer months. With OK Yachts, you can charter a yacht in Mallorca to discover some of the best coves that are difficult to access from the sea.

Caló des Moro

During your 3-day route in Majorca we recommend you to recharge your batteries by trying the typical gastronomy of the island. You can't leave Mallorca without trying the famous ensaimadas, pa amb oli or frito mallorquín.
